The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, Regina & District Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce welcome the announcement of Bell Canada’s significant expansion of the Sherwood Data Centre campus and the establishment of Bell AI Fabric’s head office in Regina. The announcement was made today in Toronto, Ontario following the Canada Investment Summit.

The expansion delivers substantial economic benefit to Saskatchewan. Up to $3 billion in provincial PST revenue, 1,200 construction jobs sustained over several years, and the majority of labour and supply spending remains in Saskatchewan. The project will establish up to 100 permanent management positions in Regina.

Bell retains full ownership of facilities, infrastructure, and security, ensuring Canadian data stays in Canadian hands.

The project reflects responsible infrastructure development. Bell supplies its own power through a phased approach, uses closed-loop cooling systems, and has designed operations to minimize noise. These design choices reduce community impact while delivering substantial economic return.

This expansion demonstrates effective partnership between government and business. Saskatchewan’s data centre framework created clear conditions for investment. When policy and private sector align, both benefit.
