In December 2025, the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce joined fellow Chambers of the Federation in writing to Premier Rob Lantz, Chair of the Council of the Federation, urging continued and accelerated action on internal trade, labour mobility, and economic competitiveness. The letter acknowledges meaningful progress made in 2025, including the signing of the Canadian Mutual Recognition Agreement, while identifying critical gaps that continue to impose costs on businesses and consumers. It calls for bold action on food and alcohol trade barriers, credential recognition, and infrastructure permitting ahead of the Council of the Federation meetings in Prince Edward Island in July 2026.
