REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce is pleased to unveil the finalists for the 2024 ABEX Awards, presented by Conexus Credit Union. For over four decades, the ABEX Awards have honoured outstanding achievements and significant contributions to Saskatchewan’s vibrant business landscape.
This year’s gala event will take place on September 21, 2024, at TCU Place in Saskatoon, SK.
“The ABEX Awards highlight the best of Saskatchewan’s business community. Our finalists this year have shown exceptional innovation and dedication to driving economic growth and community development. We are pleased to see businesses of all sizes, from smaller local businesses to larger enterprises, apply for these awards. The caliber of applications has been incredibly strong,” said Prabha Ramaswamy, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to celebrate their success and contributions.”
In addition to announcing the finalists for the eight application-based categories, the Chamber is also pleased to announce the recipients of four special awards. These recipients are independently selected by the ABEX Judging Committee.
ABEX Business Leader of the Year, sponsored by the University of Regina: This award recognizes an individual exemplifying business vision and significant contribution to the local business community.
ABEX Community Leader of the Year, sponsored by FCC. This award honours an individual who has positively impacted Saskatchewan through volunteerism and philanthropy.
Saskatchewan Business Hall of Fame Inductee: The Hall of Fame recognizes businesses demonstrating excellence over an extended period and contributing to Saskatchewan’s economic well-being.
Roger Phillips Chamber Builder Award: This award is presented to an individual with a long-standing commitment to the chamber network in Saskatchewan, in honour of past Chamber Board member and ABEX founder Roger Phillips. The recipient is chosen by the current Chair of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
Community Involvement Award, sponsored by Saskatchewan Blue Cross: Recognizes exceptional support for arts and culture, amateur sports, education, healthcare, or the volunteer sector.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award, sponsored by Nutrien: Celebrates businesses prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Growth and Expansion Award, sponsored by PFM Capital Inc.: Recognizes significant business changes leading to growth or expansion.
Innovation Award, sponsored by Saskatchewan Polytechnic: Highlights innovative products, technologies, or systems improving sales or productivity.
New Venture Award, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development: Recognizes new businesses (three years or less) showing positive performance in profitability, job creation, or market entry.
Non-Profit Impact Award, sponsored by Saskatchewan Pension Plan: Recognizes non-profit organizations that have significantly contributed to Saskatchewan’s business landscape through innovative practices and transformative initiatives.
Service Award, sponsored by KPMG LLP: Celebrates businesses providing exceptional customer service.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, sponsored by Cameco Corporation: Highlights an entrepreneur (18-35) achieving success in starting and operating a business.
ABEX Business of the Year, sponsored by Grant Thornton LLP: Selected from all 2024 recipients and announced live during the ABEX Awards on September 21, 2024.
