Why Bangladesh?

Our outbound trade mission to Bangladesh presents an exceptional opportunity for strategic expansion, development of industry connections and collaborative partnerships. Bangladesh, with a population of 170 million, heavily imports products that are major exports of Canada. The objective is to secure export opportunities for Saskatchewan companies.

Key Opportunities and Benefits

  • Bangladesh enjoys a preferential tax agreement with Canada.
  • Yearly import from Saskatchewan to Bangladesh exceed C$ 1 billion annually, with lentils, wheat, potash, and soybeans.
  • Potential for increased imports through B2G and B2B contracts; all buyers and distributors will be pre-screened and validated.
  • Market expansion and diversification opportunities.
  • Potential funding available through CanExport SME

Current Contract Opportunities

Potential B2G for red lentils could add C$ 100 million to SK’s export account and B2G for Soybean or Canola Oil could add approx. C$ 150 million.
Explore opportunities to increase Bangladesh’s 200,000-ton potash import from Canada.
